The Coalface is a unique co-working space in Finsbury Park. Our client’s vision was to create a contemporary and stylish work space for a variety of businesses, providing them with opportunities for networking and social events. With a mix of private offices and collaborative spaces, we delivered their vision from strip out to fit-out.

The Coalface was a very exciting and challenging project to work on. The design intent had practicality and flexibility at the forefront meaning we had to think outside the box to achieve the look and feel of the space without compromising usability.”Neil Corbin, Project Manager – Open
The bespoke graffiti inspired by the geological strata of the area
Work on the Cat A phase of the project began with the strip out, revealing the ceiling structures that are a key feature of the finished space. We polished and sealed off the existing floor slab, creating the contemporary industrial look.
The private and collaborative workspaces were created with stud and glazed partitioning. Natural light was enhanced throughout the space and acoustic ceiling tiles were added to isolate any echo effect.
The bespoke graffiti was inspired by the geological strata of the area, making a bold statement from the outside in. The interior space was designed with a neutral palette that provides the perfect canvas for the pop art on the walls. And biophilic design creates a feeling of wellbeing.
Working closely with the client, our team turned their vision into reality – creating an inviting place to work, finished to the highest standards.
